We are looking for a collaborative and results-driven leader to help create and lead our newly formed Digital Department and be responsible for shaping and fostering an organization-wide digital-first approach and driving the advancement of digital capacity through communications, training, resourcing and the demonstration of its positive impact on achieving department and organizational goals.

What can I expect to do in this role?
The Ontario Science Centre is looking for someone who will:
• Own and drive the roadmap, strategy, and thought leadership for the development and implementation of digital-focused innovative tools, business models and new technologies that enable achievement of business goals
• Lead, develop, and implement new digital practices and technologies to support OSC offerings and to improve the user experience of internal and external stakeholders
• Manage a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of concurrent project initiatives and for supporting a digital-first approach to activities across the OSC through project planning
How do I qualify?
Leadership and Management Skills:
• You have experience providing strategic direction, guidance and coaching to staff and/or project teams
• You have experience leading complex transformation projects and high-profile initiatives in a cross functional operational environment, effectively utilizing resources and prioritizing tasks to deliver results
• You can create and foster an organizational culture of a digital-first approach and drive the advancement of digital capacity
• You can lead concurrent project teams, working groups and committees comprised of staff or external partners
• You have experience fostering an environment of inclusion, high performance, learning, growth and continuous improvement
Technical Expertise:
• You have knowledge of information technology direction, standards and methods to interface between program areas and the I&IT department
• You have experience with change management and continuous improvement processes and principles to lead the development of change management strategies to maximize the effectiveness of programs and service delivery
• You have knowledge of performance measurement to oversee the design/implementation of performance measurement, monitoring and reporting techniques/tools in support of strategies, projects and initiatives
• You have experience with financial, administrative and procurement policies and directives to plan and manage fiscal and material resources
Analytical Thinking Skills
• You can oversee the analysis and evaluation of business processes in order to identify needs, gaps, costs, impacts and issues, establish best practices, and provide evidence-based recommendations for digital integration and transformation
• You can ensure consistency of digital business models with organization/ministry standards and best practices and alignment and integration with strategic directions and plans of other branches and departments
• You can evaluate progress of projects and initiatives, analyze priorities, and assess risks to develop mitigation strategies that ensure effective solutions are on time and on budget
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You can collaborate and consult with a broad range of internal and external partners, service providers and stakeholders to identify needs for strategic project management consultation and planning, information sharing, and issues management purposes
• You have demonstrated experience using consultative techniques to build strong linkages with your partners, and you are able to influence without formal authority.
• You have exceptional written and oral communication skills to communicate with stakeholders and to translate complex concepts/content into options and recommendations that are clear and concise
• You can provide strategic advice to senior management and executives on project management plans, proposals issues resolution, project governance framework and process reengineering, and emerging trends
• You build internal networks and partnerships while also communicating with appropriate external stakeholders to develop commitment and acceptance of new business processes
