Huronia Historical Parks (HHP) offer interactive interpretive cultural, heritage, entertainment, and educational experiences through two tourist attraction sites - Sainte-Marie among the Hurons and Discovery Harbour.

HHP seeks a results-driven communications professional to provide creative multi-media solutions and services. The successful candidate will also support other unit activities such as special event development and promotion.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Provide expertise in the creative design and development of communications products and services, including online communications, website content management, publications, print production, attraction signage and graphic design solutions;
• Research, write, review, and edit communications and media products, and ensure publication materials meet legislative requirements (accessibility, visual identify, French Language requirements, privacy);
• Monitor website usage and new media activity, conduct analysis of usage trends and user feedbacks, and make recommendations;
• Use social media network interface to provide targeted attraction event and program information;
• Support the creation, planning, and implementation of special events and promotional opportunities from concept to completion.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
The duties of the job will require the successful candidate to travel within the region/throughout the province to perform the duties of the position.
Technical Knowledge
• You have knowledge of website page design and layout methods, standards, best practices, and trends.
• You have experience with text editors, word processing tools, graphic image editing software, and digital platforms (e.g., MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Instagram).
• You have knowledge of the methods of distribution, information transmission, layout, printing, and sign production processes for traditional and digital products.
• You can carry out financial calculations, in order to estimate production costs and keep expenses within approved budget allocations.
Creativity and Conceptual Skills
• You are creative and can develop innovative approaches to promote the parks' programs and services.
• You can create compelling content for traditional and digital channels that support market reach and overall impact.
• You can write and edit materials to convey key messages.
• You can write in plain language and ensure content is appropriate for the intended audiences.
Analytical, Problem Solving and Project Management Skills
• You can assess and ensure publication material meet legislative requirements.
• You can assess impacts of new technology and developments in printing, signage and digital media.
• You can manage multiple communications projects to meet tight deadlines.
Communications, Consulting and Relationship Management Skills
• You can develop and maintain a broad network of media, community, and business contacts.
• You can communicate effectively with people, and provide consultative advice and services.
• You have knowledge of contemporary communications theory, techniques, methods and practices, as well as editing and plain language principles.
