What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Develop solutions, policies and strategies that will help the province reach full access to high-speed internet by the end of 2025.
• Develop and maintain internal and external networks of stakeholders to develop solutions, gather perspectives and test new ideas.
• Conduct complex policy research, analysis and development of studies related to current and emerging trends.
• Provide advice to senior management on contentious issues that are highly sensitive.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to staff.
• Provide political acuity during consultation/collaboration strategy building

How do I qualify?
Policy Development and Strategic Thinking Skills
• You have extensive knowledge and experience in policy analysis and development, including addressing principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in your work.
• You can ensure ministry and government objectives are considered in policy/program development.
• You can evaluate policy and program options and alternatives in terms of economics, cost analysis, practicality, impact on stakeholders
• You have an in-depth understanding of government/legislative decision-making and planning processes.
• You can define a vision for long-term outcomes, develop strategic framework, reviews outcomes against expectations and advises how to navigate the appropriate decision making processes.
• You have organizational skills and proven ability to work to tight timelines and under pressure.
Stakeholder, Relationship and Communications Skills
• You have engagement and relationship management skills to work collaboratively and establish key linkages and relationships across the OPS and externally
• You can advise on issues, relations, program and policy projects and initiatives to management and stakeholders.
• You can consult, collaborate, and build consensus to meet mutual goals with stakeholders.
• You can effectively present policy and program advice and recommendations, including communicating complex, technical, program, and policy issues and ensure understanding by senior management and stakeholders.
• You can lead briefings, meetings and working groups, leveraging partnership and influencing skills to develop relationships and consultation frameworks with various partner ministries and stakeholders, including industry, federal, and municipal partners.
Leadership and Project Management Skills:
• You can initiate work, conduct project planning and prioritize to meet deliverables and achieve results.
• You can lead complex and contentious inter-ministry and external stakeholder projects.
• You have knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices to lead various concurrent projects.
• You can coordinate appropriate approvals processes related to policy, program, and legislative recommendations/submissions.
