About us:The Emergency Management & Physical Security Coordination Office leads and coordinates the ministry's emergency management, continuity of operations, physical security and contingency planning programs. The Unit also coordinates completion of workplace violence risk assessments.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Lead and manage the delivery and evaluation of ongoing provincial emergency management programs and plans.
• Assess and evaluate potential emergency situations and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Provide strategic advice and subject matter expertise to senior ministry officials and management.
• Oversee the development and ongoing management of strategic partnerships with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead business, financial, and results-based planning processes for Ministry programs/operations and services.
• Build organizational capacity through effective human resources development.
How do I qualify?
Technical Expertise:
• You have knowledge of the principles, policies, guidelines, and standards related to Emergency and Security Management approaches and implementation.
• You can implement policy making and program development methods, techniques and strategies and consultative processes to lead the development of ministry-wide emergency management program.
• You can accurately interpret and apply related legislation (e.g. Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, Fire Code, Ontario Health and Safety Act, and Emergency Response Directives) normally acquired in part through certification in Continuity of Operations Planning or equivalent experience.
• You are well-versed in contingency planning principles and practices, business continuity planning and hazard identification and risk assessment related to environmental emergencies.
