The Regional Operations Division has an impact on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the province by creating and influencing decisions that affect the sustainable use of the province's natural resources. The division also plays an instrumental role in the safety and well-being of Ontarians and these positions lead a large and diverse team of professionals who will play critical roles in this work.

About the Positions:

The Director, Divisional Delivery Branch provides operational leadership to the division's direct delivery programs and functions to effectively implement province wide programs and initiatives.

The Director, Integration Branch provides strategic planning and coordination to support the delivery of natural resources programs and operational policies to enable effective delivery across the province.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, you will:

Director, Divisional Delivery Branch
• Provides leadership and direction of ministry strategies for centralized delivery of province wide programs
• Lead and direct the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan for direct program delivery
• Lead initiatives to engage clients and stakeholders while promoting responsible and responsive resource and emergency management preparedness decisions
• Engage and/or provide guidance in working with Indigenous communities and other levels of government with resource management objectives
• Lead to the development and direction of the overall divisional business, resource and operating plans/strategies
• Support and promote a high-performing, inclusive and productive team environment while fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, accessibility and excellence

Director, Integration Branch
• Provides leadership for the development and implementation of Regional Operations Division strategies, plans and processes
• Play a critical role in influencing and providing recommendations to provincial/ministry legislations, regulations, policies and programs as a member of the division's management team
• Provide guidance and expertise to senior executives on strategic policy, planning, and research
• Lead the divisional digital services to support government priorities and modernization strategies, supports and initiatives
• Provides leadership for business services related to Crown land administration and controllership support
• Support and promote a high-performing, inclusive and productive team environment while fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, accessibility and excellence

• You have experience developing strategic plans that support effective business transformation
• You have demonstrated proficiency in thinking of the broader picture and planning in current contexts and for future needs
• You are courageous and have a track-record of delivering complex operations that involve making difficult choices, addressing issues and taking bold action
• You promote and foster a culture of collaboration across the branch, division and Ontario Public Service
• You have successfully developed and fostered organizational cultures that are diverse, inclusive, accessible, nimble and innovative

Relationship Management and Communications

• You have experience engaging internal and external stakeholders as well as Indigenous communities to achieve consensus and commitment to deliverables
• You have superior communication, negotiation, and consultation skills to establish collaborative relationships and build consensus among a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and partners
• You have experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior executives
• You have proven political acuity to recognize and respond to politically sensitive and contentious issues

Program Delivery, Operational Policy Implementation and Technical

• You have solid knowledge of and experience in public policy development
• You have strategic planning skills to ensure policies, programs and strategic plans link with broader economic and social priorities
• You are able to translate desired program outcomes into achievable actions and ensure that staff and stakeholders are both supported and supportive
• You have superior program management skills to direct, manage and evaluate the activities of staff; to meet program delivery needs

Strategic Thinking / Planning

• You are a strategic and conceptual thinker who can quickly grasp complex issues and inter-relationships, and identify the potential consequences of intended action to support strategic recommendations
• You are able to identify, assess and integrate across diverse internal and external influences on policy issues and make strategic recommendations
• You are a strong negotiator and can influence others to find collaborative solutions to complex problems

Change Management

• You demonstrate success in creating a vision for change and managing its implementation to achieve change
• You have demonstrated ability to leverage networks inside and outside the Ontario Public Service to drive change and innovation
• You challenge the status quo and seek to develop champions within your team to do the same
