Arrowhead Provincial Park is in the heart of Muskoka. The parks boasts three sand beaches on Arrowhead Lake which are quiet motorboat-free lakes. There are 15 km of hiking trails including a trail leading to a beautiful waterfall. During the winter you can ski, snowshoe, go tubing and ice skate on our one of kind ice trails, which have become a major attraction during the winter months.

Positions available:
• 1 temporary recurring seasonal contract up to 42 weeks
• 1 temporary recurring seasonal contract up to 3 months (December to March)

What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Store Attendant, you will:

• receive and monitor inventory, and prepare orders for restocking store
• display store merchandise in an attractive manner
• sell merchandise, cash handing, record all funds received, balance cash
• provide general information about the park to visitors
• issue and file permits
• maintain and service inventory of skis, skates and snowshoes in winter and watercraft in summer
• handle rental equipment and fit visitors with skis, boots, poles, ice-skates, snowshoes, etc.
• assist in the training and leadership of students and volunteers
• provide first aid and emergency services if required
• work in fast paced busy operation
• ensure that the store and visitor centre are constantly maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition
• deal with difficult customers and contentious issues

NOTE: You will be required to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirements:

• You must possess a valid class 'G' driver's licence as recognized by the province of Ontario.

Technical knowledge:

• You possess knowledge of retail sales procedures and practices and basic knowledge of cash handling
• You possess knowledge of office procedures, clerical processes and the ability to operate office machines and equipment in order to process reservations and issue permits.
• You possess or have the ability to obtain knowledge of park programs, services, and operating regulations/policies/procedures.

Interpersonal, organizational and communication Skills:

• You possess strong interpersonal and communications skills to prepare correspondence and provide customer service.
• You have the ability to understand and apply operational policies to provide information to park visitors.
• You have demonstrated organizational, mathematical and cash handling skills.

Computer skills:

• You possess the ability to use personal computers, software applications, databases, reservation systems and can perform data entry.
