What can I expect to do in this role?

As an Advisor, Senior Developer, you will:

• Be part of an agile, self-directed, multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, senior solution designers, software developers, and IT professionals with business expertise.
• Provide technical expertise to deliver advanced and complex digital solutions in all phases of SDLC, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance in multi-platform environments.
• Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations allowing clients to explore data and discover business insights independently.
• Constantly and passionately learn emerging technologies, best practices, toolsets, and others to deliver state-of-the-art digital solutions.
• Develop robotic process automation and machine learning (RPA&ML) applications to enable Ontario Public Service (OPS)-wide business process automation, which will have a great impact on Ontarians' day-to-day government experience.

How do I qualify?

Technical Skills and Expertise

You have:
• Experience and skills to use Microsoft Power App to build desktop/Mobile UI interface and integrate with database, different services, Power Automate flows to implement end-to-end solutions
• Knowledge of, and experience in, developing applications using C#, Java, Java Scripts, Groovy, Web-Harvest, JSON, HTML/CSS/XML/XPath and tools like Maven, GIT and JIRA
• Extensive knowledge and experience in all phases of the software development life cycle, writing well-designed efficient code, ensuring implementation compliance with specifications, and supporting continuous improvement by providing operational support and resolving complex system issues
• Demonstrated experience with frameworks like Spring, Angular, and React
• Demonstrated experience in developing SOAP and Restful Web Services and microservices
• Demonstrated experience with Databases, SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and BI tools such as Tableau
• Experience in developing applications that follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at AA level
• Robotics Process Automation (RPA) and Machine Learning (ML) knowledge, and demonstrated experience using RPA tools (Power Automate, WorkFusion, UI Path, Blueprint, Automation Anywhere, and others)

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• You are solution-focused with an ability to assess competing needs and manage the risks and challenges that present themselves.
• You have analytical skills to conduct research, assess client needs, lead design processes, and develop high-level recommendations regarding solution feasibility and options.
• You can perform complex problem troubleshooting and system resolution activities and resolve critical sustainment problems.
• You can assess clients' I&IT needs and develop cost-effective solutions to improve their program delivery and resolve critical sustainment problems.
• You are able to troubleshoot and resolve issues and risks, through a collaborative process.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills

• You have demonstrated team leadership skills to coordinate the development of technical project plans, control project process, and provide technical leadership to project staff and external stakeholders.
• You have experience leading teams of internal project staff and external consultants to ensure project deliverables are in alignment with organization strategies.

Communication, Customer Service, and Relationship Management Skills

You have:
• demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
• proven leadership skills that provide you with the experience of influencing others by persuasion rather than authority and making your case through excellent communication, speaking clearly to be easily understood, and persuasive writing skills
• demonstrated the ability to comfortably lead discussions and promote your ideas to technical and non-technical colleagues, and senior management
