What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Direct and manage the I&IT technology Infrastructure Projects Support Delivery Operations team.
• Provide senior level subject matter I&IT infrastructure expertise to all project teams.
• Direct and research the development or acquisition of technology, tools and methodologies to improve the effectiveness of project and portfolio management.
• Liaise with I&IT project/portfolio managers to assess the adequacy of existing I&IT project and portfolio management methods, practices and documentation.
• Manage financial resources, and participate in funding requests, budget allocation, expenditure tracking, and variance resolution.

Technical Expertise:

• You have knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies to advise and provide expertise to project and portfolio managers in planning and managing multiple projects, and enable delivery against planned cost, time, quality and value expectations, as per business partners' requirements.
• You have knowledge of portfolio and project management tools, such as MS Project, Planview, Clarity or equivalents to supplement project management methodologies, and facilitate best project outcomes.
• You have knowledge of the theory, principles and development of an I&IT enterprise-wide infrastructure and the relationships between the physical hardware components - servers, networks, telecommunications devices, desktop and mobile devices, enterprise and departmental printers, and the software that enables connectivity, availability and accessibility to ensure infrastructure projects maintain the viability of the environment.
• You have knowledge of resource management practices to estimate financial and human resource requirements, provision large teams of project, vendor and consultant staff, manage financial resources, match skills to project tasks and acquire consultants.

Communication and Relationship Management Skills:

• You have strong communication and political acuity skills to provide guidance and advice to liaise with a variety of people of diverse background and skills.
• You can provide expert technical advice and share project data/information.
• You can develop business cases and get approval to acquire I&IT tools and technologies.

Problem-Solving, Research, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Skills:

• You can identify and correct gaps and deficiencies in I&IT project/portfolio management practices.
• You can aid I&IT project staff in timely resolution of project problems.
• You can promote project consistency and improve quality of outcomes.
• You can identify, research and promote innovative project and portfolio management solutions.
