About the job
You will:
• Lead the implementation of the OSC Occupational Health and Safety Management System
• Lead OSC-specific and/or corporate health, safety and wellness initiatives with a broad organizational focus and impact
• provide strategic advice to senior management about health, safety and wellness trends and programs
• Develop and promote communications and events related to health safety and wellness, including newsletters, website materials, webinars, and wellness initiatives
• Lead and conduct research and analysis to identify, evaluate and provide recommendations on emerging health and safety issues and trends
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge
• You have demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Health and Safety legislation, policies, programs, and procedures, as well as an understanding of strategic human resources initiatives and programs relating to organizational health, safety and wellness
Consultation and Communication Skills
• You have the demonstrated ability to employ consultative skills, good judgment, tact and political acuity to provide sound advice and collaborate effectively with leaders, stakeholders, and enterprise partners
• You have the proven ability to develop and implement health and safety policies, programs, Standard Operating Procedures, briefing notes, presentations and research reports
• You have well developed oral and written communication skills to effectively prepare reports and make presentations to employees, stakeholders, colleagues and senior management
Research and Analytical Skills
• You can apply your research and analytical skills to review and analyze business goals, health and safety issues and prepare appropriate recommendations to senior management
Project Management Skills
• You have experience using project management techniques to effectively lead planning and development of various initiatives and programs and to establish priorities and meet deadlines
