Note: This position is located at 33 King Street West Oshawa and/or 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto; however, alternate work arrangements including flexible hours, hybrid remote work, and compressed work week may be available.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• receive, negotiate and resolve the daily traffic for domain registration (requests and renewals)
• document the evolution of the processes and explore enhancements by engaging with teams across the organization
• act as the subject matter expert for the ongoing transformation of the OPS Websites Database using agile methodologies and modern tools
• work with Lead Domain Registration Specialist and assist with Domain Registration service delivery, update domain registration guidelines for OPS
• develop and deliver reports, presentations, spreadsheets and other necessary documentation
• enable compliance with the OPS Domain Name Guidelines and other applicable OPS policies, procedures, standards and legislation, such as the AODA
• measure, analyze and report based on data driven decision making
• perform user research and/or usability testing

How do I qualify?

Communication, Relationship Building and Interpersonal Skills:

• You have relationship management and team work skills to initiate and maintain strong and cooperative working relationships.
• You can establish effective working relationships to discuss and resolve requirements and formatting/editorial issues with clients and contractors.
• You can discuss project needs/priorities and negotiate timelines.

Organizational and Project Management Skills:

• You have demonstrated experience managing various project assignments, identify priorities and set work schedules.
• You have demonstrated attention to detail to review materials for accuracy and timeliness.
• You are able to adhere to existing processes while identifying means of improvement.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• You have knowledge of internet protocols such as DNS, web standards and guidelines and related policies, procedures and legislation.
• You have knowledge of various software and Internet related applications such as HTML editors, site management programs, and databases.
• You have knowledge of modern development methodologies and experience building products using agile methodology.
• You can effectively design and present information to meet client objectives.
• You have knowledge of publishing procedures/principles to ensure easy access to online materials.
• You have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet, database applications to create, manage and report on web technology.
• You are willing to learn new technologies through courses and on-the-job training.
• You have demonstrated working experiences in user testing and/or Internet, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) international standards; web accessibility standards, implementation and testing tools (e.g. for accessibility)

Reasoning, Research and Analytical Skills:

• You can determine the appropriate content, coding, format, design and structure for web sites and evaluate the effectiveness of web designs/projects.
• You can collect and analyze data for new web projects, determine information to include in databases, check veracity with ministry management and investigate new technologies and internet best practices for possible application to ministry web sites.
