What can I expect to do in this role?

As an HR intern, your work may involve supporting the delivery of HR services, activities and programs, by conducting research and analysis, preparing presentations and written material, and coordinating projects.
You may also assist with providing key strategic and operational support to clients in planning for and delivering on business priorities.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• You must have graduated or will complete the requirements to graduate with a degree, diploma, or post-graduate certificate from a recognized or legally authorized post-secondary institution in the last two years (May 2021-June 2023)
o Internships are open to persons with disabilities who have graduated from an eligible post-secondary program in the last five years (May 2018-June 2023)
o Internships are open to all Indigenous applicants who have graduated from an eligible post-secondary program in the last five years (May 2018-June 2023).
o Internships are open to all Black applicants who have graduated from an eligible post-secondary program in the last five years (May 2018-June 2023).
• You must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Research and Analytical skills:

• You can conduct research, compile information and analyze data to support various people initiatives
• You can understand and analyze complicated issues in view of applicable legislation, directives, policies and guidelines
• You can plan, identify and assess complex or contentious issues, supporting the development of innovative responses, options and solutions

Communication skills:

• You can prepare and present various documents, including presentations, reports, summaries.
• You can clearly and concisely communicate information and recommendations.

Interpersonal and teamwork skills:

• You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at varying levels to seek and exchange information.
• You can participate and contribute to working groups.

Planning and organizational skills:

• You are able to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks and projects with competing deadlines.

Knowledge:

• You have the knowledge to support various human resources programs and initiatives, including: talent and performance management, workforce and human capital, organizational capacity and engagement, organizational health, safety and wellness, strategic labour relations and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
