Here is your opportunity to utilize your financial and communication skills, where you will provide a full range of financial accounting services in support of the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court. You will provide for the secure administration of revenue funds and accounts and to maintain trust and other accounts.

About the job

You will:
• record and maintain trust and revenue accounts accurately
• ensure monthly reconciliation and related reports are completed for each account
• balance all trust and revenue accounts daily, check receipts, and investigate any discrepancies
• prepare the daily cash reconciliation and bank deposits for trust and revenue accounts
• approve and prepare general invoices
• resolve discrepancies with the bank
• perform other general clerical functions as required

What you bring to the team

Technical Knowledge:

• you have demonstrated experience in clerical finance and bookkeeping procedures
• you have knowledge of accounting principles, practices, financial policies, procedures and protocols
• you have the ability to understand court practices and procedures related to bookkeeping functions

Communication Skills:

• you have oral communication skills to liaise and deal effectively with clients at the counter and on the phone
• you use tact and diplomacy to communicate with legal professionals, judiciary and the public
• you have written communication skills to prepare reports

Organizational, Analytical and Judgement Skills:

• you have demonstrated organizational skills to effectively perform multiple tasks and complete work to meet strict deadlines
• you have demonstrated analytical and judgement skills
• you have the ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy
• you have the ability to work independently in a high volume environment with little supervision

Other Related Skills:

• you have proven mathematical skills to perform calculations related to cash
• you are proficient with office software to prepare reports and spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Intranet)
