What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Provide strategic expertise and leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of a data governance framework to support ministry business needs for high-quality information, and methodological support that enables health system evidence-based decision-making.
• Lead the setting up of a data governance framework to support the development of analytical reports, forecasts, impact analyses, visual tools and maps, KPIs, performance measures, and evaluation frameworks and methods to inform ongoing management and transformation of health policy and programs.
• Champion and influence evidence-informed decision-making and business practices across the ministry.
How do I qualify?
Research and Analysis:
• You have extensive experience in setting up data governance in the Health domain including health data standards, data quality, data privacy, data security, data modelling, data access, data querying, and metadata.
• You have extensive quantitative analysis experience in the health field and are skilled in developing and using a range of analytic, statistical, and modelling techniques.
• You have extensive knowledge of, and experience with, a wide range of datasets that are relevant to health.
• You are skilled with a range of statistical software.
Strategic Leadership and Project Management Skills:
• You are well-versed in data governance tools, cloud computing, technical architecture, and Government of Ontario standards, with expertise in policies and directives on data security, privacy, retrieval, and archival.
• You possess advanced expertise in epidemiology, statistics, health geography, biostatistics, and health economics, along with a deep understanding of analytic methods, performance indicators, research techniques, and statistical methods used in health analytics.
Consultation and Advice:
• You can brief senior management on options, and short- and long-term strategies to facilitate senior-level decision-making.
• You can effectively communicate complex analyses and methods to all audiences, including senior government executives.
• You have superior written and oral communication skills.
Client and Stakeholder Relationship Skills:
• You can lead consensus-making with a large number of stakeholders to adopt data governance best practices, and techniques.
• You can build and manage effective internal and external partnerships.
• You can provide expertise and advice to clients on analytic products, reporting capabilities and tools.
• You can lead the data governance councils and ably represent the Health Services Cluster.
