What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• provide senior level technical services and consulting services in systems design, development and implementation and support of systems/services.
• lead and/or advise on business systems needs analysis and systems business application planning, design, testing, customization and enhancement initiatives
• develop business cases for recommended systems and applications
• provide specialized systems consulting expertise to clients

How do I qualify?

Technical skills and knowledge:

You have:
• expert knowledge of computer technology, business analysis, systems requirements gathering, and systems analysis
• excellent knowledge of systems design/development, data modelling and related methods, techniques, practices and standards; using a structured system development methodology (e.g. RPG, RPGLE, COBOL, COBOL ILE, CLP, Synon/Synon 2E, LANSA, .NET, SharePoint, SQL, CLP, JAVA)
• extensive knowledge of IBM AS/400 technology, databases and toolsets (e.g., DB2, RPG, COBOL, SQL, MS SQL, Oracle,. Etc.)
• the ability to use RPG, COBOL, CLP, Synon/Synon 2E, LANSA, and.NET and Java for application development, UI interface and integrate with databases for end-to-end solutions
• experience of object-oriented development using .NET and Java technologies as well as JSF, Spring framework; knowledge of HTML and XML
• demonstrated experience using front-end web page application tools (such as ASP.Net, Angular etc.)
• extensive knowledge of databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle)

Project management skills:

You have:
• demonstrated knowledge of project management methodology to effectively manage and provide technical leadership/advice for systems design, development, customization, and implementation projects
• knowledge of cost benefit analysis methods and techniques to prepare business cases, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare cost and resource estimates

Analytical and problem-solving skills:

You have:
• analytical skills to assess clients' information and system's needs and assess design alternatives related to the client's business needs

Communication skills:

You have:
• written communication skills to prepare systems design documents, business cases, systems documentation, and users manuals
• communication and presentation skills to discuss business requirements with clients and to present and discuss options and technical analysis with a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical)
