Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $76,231 to $109,842 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• provide a range of financial management support including administration of funding programs and transfer payments, coordinating budget preparation and control, and financial analysis and reporting
• coordinate divisional forecasting and expenditure monitoring, booking accruals, preparing journals and purchase orders and identify and analyze operational/financial planning and implementation reporting issues
• develop recommendations for transfer payment accountability frameworks and best practices
How do I qualify?
Mandatory requirement:
• You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
Financial expertise:
• You have knowledge of business planning cycles and processes, as well as general accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
• You have knowledge of forecasting, expenditure monitoring, accruals, purchase orders and journals in a large organization.
• You have knowledge of/can gain knowledge of transfer payment directives
• You can prepare financial reports that comply with financial and administrative policies/requirements.
• You have experience with financial information systems and related software to monitor expenditures, provide financial systems inputs, and prepare reports.
Analytical skills:
• You have analytical skills to assess and analyze various financial and business matters (e.g., implications of funding changes) and make recommendations to senior management.
• You can interpret and apply complex financial and administrative legislation/policies/directives to ensure compliance.
• You can conduct financial analysis of qualitative and quantitative information and translate this into relevant proposals and reports for senior management.
• You have strategic-thinking skills to contribute new, innovative ideas to business planning and to determine the best use of resources to accomplish branch financial management goals.
Planning and organizational skills:
• You are highly organized and can prioritize your work to meet deadlines.
• You can monitor and track project deliverables and the development of the branch's multi-year finance plan.
Communication skills:
• You have consultation, advisory and facilitation skills to gather information and liaise effectively with staff throughout government and external stakeholders.
