Bring your strong leadership skills to the Payroll Business Support Branch where you will provide project leadership in various branch projects to support the planning, reengineering and implementation of human resources and payroll and human resources management information systems.

What can I expect to do in this role?

• conduct the planning, business analysis and leadership of components of business analysis projects, processes and systems improvements
• develop process maps and workflows and identify points of internal control and steps within the processes to provide value to the process and its products
• develop and apply changes to operational procedures and policies
• develop and maintain branch standards for the development of guidelines and tools to ensure the quality and consistency of all branch programs, systems and business related information provided to customers and stakeholders

How do I qualify?

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:

• you have strong analytical skills to analyze information and data including determining data sources, conducting research studies, reviewing best practices and determining implications of results on planning and developing branch standards
• you have strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate and advise on potential options for re-engineering various systems processes and practices
• you are able to analyze new changes communicated through sources such as the Canadian Payroll Association and Canadian Revenue Association and identify high level business and system impacts

Communication, Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

• you have strong oral and written communication skills to prepare and present materials including business analyses, research findings, recommendations and process related material including, market tools, resource materials, reference guides and training material
• you have strong leadership skills to lead various components of projects such as business analysis and system improvements
• you have strong consultative and collaboration skills and knowledge of customer focus service delivery in order to understand the business practices and system issues facing the client and provide recommendations to address client issues

Research Skills:

• you have strong knowledge of research principles and methods in order to determine appropriate data sources and apply relevant research models, tools and techniques (e.g. statistics, consultations, surveys, trends, economic models and financial analysis) to identify best practices
• you have strong research skills to gather and develop material to include for business cases to support new business processes and system initiatives

Technical Skills:

• you have knowledge of data synthesis, information interpretation and process analysis techniques to conduct analysis and provide support for major business re-engineering projects
• you have knowledge of People Soft 9 Human Capital Management, the different modules in PeopleSoft 9 and their impact on Payroll, Absence Management, Benefit Administration and Time and Labour
• you are able to develop clear business and system procedures
• you have knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and their linkages with each other and other PeopleSoft set ups
• you have an understanding of process mapping and workflows and identify points of internal control and steps within the processes to provide value to the process and its products

Project Management Skills:

• you have demonstrated knowledge of business analysis theories, techniques and methods such as best business practices, benchmarking and business process re-engineering
• you have demonstrated understanding of project management techniques and methodologies
• you have strong organizational skills to prioritize projects and deliver in a demanding environment
• you have an ability to become familiar with payroll and benefit policies, practices and systems
