What can I expect to do in this role?

In this position, you will:
• provide recommendations to senior management about the functioning, adequacy and effectiveness of the organizational control strategies, structures and systems
• provide project leadership, supervision, coordination, coaching, technical guidance and training to multi-disciplinary team of professionals
• plan, coordinate, perform and supervise complex audit projects in conformance with professional audit standards and contribute to continuous improvement within branch by conducting quality assurance activities
• assist clients in the development, use and evaluation of risk management and control strategies in relation to operations, processes, policies and programs
• conduct stakeholder consultations, manage relationships and networks with clients, senior management team and other stakeholders fostering alliances

How do I qualify?

Audit Knowledge and Skills:

• You have theoretical knowledge and comprehensive experience with generally accepted internal auditing standards, accounting principles, audit practices and methodology
• You have experience in generally accepted risk management, governance, control frameworks, principles and practices such as COSO, COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley and Enterprise Risk Management
• You have experience in business risk management, internal controls and governance frameworks

Team Leadership and Coaching Skills:

• You can lead, motivate and coach a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team of professionals
• You can maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management in potentially contentious and controversial situations with tact and diplomacy

Project Management Skills:

• You have experience in planning, implementing, leading and managing concurrent, multiple, complex audit and special projects using project management methodology
• You have experience in managing consultants and coordinating staff activities and projects within budgets and deadlines
• You can maintain project performance and professional quality standards and bring innovative risk-based approaches to conducting audits

Communication, Negotiation and Consulting Skills:

• You can edit reports for senior management for quality, clarity and structure
• You can produce high impact reports and briefing materials that enhance credibility and customer service
• You can effectively prioritize and communicate significant items to senior management
• You can provide critical support and valuable advice that helps anticipate and respond to issues in a timely manner

Analytical Skills:

• You can apply analytical techniques and methods to assess qualitative and quantitative information and analyze processes and complex business information using structured approaches
• You can identify issues, leverage your knowledge, synthesize information, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, explore improvement opportunities and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances

Computer Skills:

• You have demonstrated experience in data extraction and using project and audit management applications and Microsoft office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
