Make a positive contribution towards environmental protection by developing your career in the area of environmental policy, with a focus on economic analysis of environmental policy instruments.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• collect and analyze economic data from multiple sources to prepare reports, summaries, financial and statistical analyses
• develop data models and forecasts to support multi-year impact analysis of policy instruments
• measure the effectiveness of emissions trading and economic incentives
• assess the environmental, financial, and socio-economic impact of policies and programs
• develop and maintain databases for use by section staff and project teams
• conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis involving economic, environmental and financial factors

How do I qualify?

Technical Expertise:

• You have knowledge of economic forecasting, econometric modelling and financial analysis theories
• You have knowledge of environmental issues and trends
• You have knowledge of research and analytical methods, information management and statistical techniques

Analytical, Conceptual, Problem-Solving and Computer Skills:

• You can conduct economic research, analysis and modelling projects
• You have knowledge of database management and data modelling software including standard computer software programs (i.e. MS Office, email)

Organizational, Coordination, Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• You can manage a high volume of research and analytical studies
• You can organize large volumes of information into databases
• You can produce reports and statistics in support of research and analysis
• You can work in a team environment and prepare reports and summaries
