What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Provide diverse nursing services on an assigned shift;
• Conduct health assessments;
• Provide emergency intervention;
• Administer medication;
• Liaise with other professionals and correctional staff.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• You must have current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
• You must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification or have the ability to obtain one;
• You must be willing to work shifts;
•For the bilingual position, you must have advanced French verbal skills.

Nursing Skills:

• You are knowledgeable in nursing theories and practices;
• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation;
• You have demonstrated excellent problem-solving, organizational and reasoning skills to provide emergency, urgent and routine health care;
• You can identify and evaluate health care issues and determine appropriate treatment.

Communication Skills:

• You have proven communication and counselling skills to deal effectively with staff and clients;
• You can work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work with a diverse client group;
• You have computer skills to prepare reports and input and retrieve offender information.
