Are you an experienced bilingual educator? If so, consider this challenging opportunity to apply your superior leadership and consultative skills as an Education Officer with the French-Language Education Policy and Programs Branch in the French-language curriculum policy and programs Unit.
Two bilingual education officers are required for development and implementation of French-language curriculum and its related policies, initiatives and programs in areas such as the francophone cultural approach to teaching in a minority setting, Full-Day Kindergarten and Student Assessment and Evaluation.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• provide strategic leadership, planning, coordination and specialized French-language education expertise
• identify and analyze current and emerging issues in French-language education
• liaise with a broad range of French-language education stakeholders and interest groups
• participate on ministry, inter-ministerial and inter-provincial committees
• lead and/or develop research, training and policy materials and submissions

How do I qualify?

Mandatory:

• Oral and written proficiency in French and English at the superior level
• Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

Technical Knowledge:

• Thorough knowledge of Ontario educational systems with proven knowledge, skills and experience in French-language elementary and secondary school settings
• Understanding of the specialized educational needs and issues faced by the Francophone community including socio-cultural, economic and demographic factors which impact on education
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of educational theories and practices in the areas of curriculum development, assessment policy and related policies and programs in areas such as the francophone cultural approach to teaching in a minority setting, Full-day Kindergarten and student assessment and evaluation

Project Management, Research and Analytical Skills:

• Proven project management, team leadership and administration abilities to produce high quality results on time
• Demonstrated knowledge of policy and program analysis, design and development, research and evaluation
• Proven ability to think strategically, anticipate and absorb complex issues and develop effective policy options

Leadership, Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• Proven consultative, leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English to prepare and present a wide range of policy reports

    As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00.
