What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Project Manager, you will:

• provide project leadership on multiple projects ranging from medium to large scale, high profile cluster wide information technology initiatives to ministry specific systems projects
• develop and manage project budgets effectively
• analyze and conduct risk and issues management
• develop and maintain relationships with clients
• monitor and implement change management
• promote adherence to OPS I&IT standards and best practices while also participating on different committees

How do I qualify?

Knowledge:

• You have thorough knowledge and understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
• You have knowledge and understanding of systems analysis and design principles, methods and techniques.
• You have knowledge of enterprise architecture, information management principles (e.g. logical and physical data modeling, database design and software development lifecycle management tools).
• You are knowledgeable of tendering practices and processes to acquire and negotiate contract agreements.
• You have an understanding of conventional and leading edge technologies.

Project management experience and skills:

• You have highly developed project management skills to lead and develop various projects of various sizes.
• You have demonstrated risk management skills to identify and control risk including applying risk management techniques.
• You demonstrate experience working with vendors and contract management.

Relationship building and communication skills:

• You have proven customer service and interpersonal skills to build, maintain and liaise with various stakeholders and team members.
• You possess well develop consultative and negotiation skills to provide advice and guidance to staff and clients.
• You have proven communication skills to make presentations to client management, to promote innovative processes, to foster cooperation among clients and technical staff and to prepare project information.
• You possess written communication skills to prepare reports, analyze information and report on findings.
