What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• provide project leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of government wide I&IT strategies and policies, that support the government's policy, business and service delivery objectives
• conduct sophisticated environmental scanning to identify and address issues which have I&IT implications for business decision making
• develop and manage key stakeholder relations
• prepare briefing notes, correspondence and position papers for senior management
How do I qualify?
Policy Development and Research skills
• proven expertise in policy development, research, analysis and evaluation
• ability to lead, coordinate and conduct policy research, development and analysis for corporate I&IT strategies and initiatives
• ability to provide expert policy advice, analysis and recommendations to senior management
• ability to identify and prioritize policy requirements, conduct research on new approaches and trends, develop policy objectives and conceptualize solutions
Knowledge of Information and Information Technology
• advanced understanding of the I&IT environment and implications for achieving business goals
• specialized knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas: information management, knowledge management, information technology and electronic service delivery/channels to develop and evaluate government wide I&IT strategies
Project Management and Leadership skills
• demonstrated project leadership, planning, coordinating abilities to provide project planning and leadership on concurrent policy development projects and meet deadlines
Negotiation and Consulting Skills
• excellent mediation, stakeholder negotiation, consulting and facilitation skills to establish credibility, gain cooperation and foster effective and collegial working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Communication Skills
• communications, relationship management and interpersonal skills to provide expert policy related information, support and advisory services to senior levels government wide

- As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00
