If so, consider this opportunity with the Ministry of Transportation for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team in the delivery of our unincorporated roads program.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this challenging role you will:
• provide supervision, leadership and direction to the staff
• assist the Manager in providing technical, accounting and service delivery advice and support for the operation and maintenance of Local Roads Board and First Nations roads as well as to organized municipalities with connecting links
• represent the ministry at public, municipal and other stakeholder meetings
How do I qualify?
Mandatory requirement:
• valid driver's licence to travel to construction worksites
Technical skills:
• demonstrated knowledge of road design, construction and maintenance practices and familiarity with associated equipment
• ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• knowledge of procurement and tendering processes, practices and documents to acquire goods and services
Management and leadership skills:
• proven leadership and supervisory skills to supervise staff and ensure accountability
• demonstrated skills in financial forecasting, budgeting, and expenditure control
General skills:
• proven negotiation and communication skills to respond to inquiries, communicate and negotiate on ministry behalf using tact and diplomacy
• problem solving and organizational skills
• proficiency with computers and various software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, email and internet/intranet based programs

As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 5 with a salary range of $64,605.00 - $90,300.00
