The Ontario Clean Water Agency is an agency of the Province of Ontario, reporting to the Ministry of the Environment. As the largest provider of water and wastewater services in Canada, we manage over 600 facilities from small well systems and lagoons to large water and wastewater treatment plants. What can I expect to do in this role?
Use your skills to maintain electrical equipment, controls and systems and operate and maintain water and/or wastewater projects within the Ottawa Valley Hub.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the electrical trade and certification by the Ministry of Colleges & Universities.
• Class 2 certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection and Class 1 Water Distribution.
• Minimum Operator-in-Training (OIT), as specified in O.Reg. 128/04 of the Safe Drinking Water Act and O.Reg. 129/04 of the Ontario Water Resources Act.
• Valid Class ‘G' Driver's License.
• Must be available to be on-call after regular working hours.
Knowledge:
• Experience in performing maintenance and repair of electrical equipment in an industrial type environment analysis and troubleshooting of PLC programs.
• Experience with SCADA systems and controls devices.
• Good working knowledge of tools and test equipment.
• Basic understanding of water and sewage treatment or any other similar type process.
Skills and Ability include:
• Ability to work from plans and schematic diagrams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Analyze and troubleshoot PLC programs.
