Join the dedicated staff at the Alternate Format Materials Resource Centre, Provincial Schools Branch where we believe that our purpose is to reach every one of our learners and help to actualize their full potential.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this unique role, you will:
• produce alternate text materials such as Braille, Etext large print and digital audio for elementary, secondary and post-secondary students
• review materials and formatting for suitable production
• produce alternate text materials for students attending W. Ross Macdonald School, other institutions in Ontario and for inter-library loan requests from other provincial resource libraries
• provide client support, transcription, financial and data support services within the Resource Library in both English and French

How do I qualify?

Knowledge and related experience:

• You have advanced knowledge of alternate format production practices related to transcription (eg. braille, Etext, digital audio)

Computer and software skills:

• You have demonstrated experience with and knowledge of alternate format production software and machinery related to transcription
• You have demonstrated experience with databases for tracking purposes and the ability to manipulate data
• You have computer skills with ability to utilize email, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications

Administrative skills:

• You have organizational, time management, administrative and reasoning skills to set priorities, organize materials and meet deadlines
• You have problem solving skills

Communication skills:

• You have advanced communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with students, teachers and provincial libraries
