The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Technology Services Division, is seeking a motivated and organized individual to evaluate, test, implement and report on quality standards, performance standards, test procedures and practices related to new or modified software programs utilized throughout Elections Ontario. You will:

What can I expect to do in this role?

• evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures;
• review new or modified programs, including documentation, diagrams, and flow charts, to determine if programs will perform according to user/business requests;
• work with Project Managers to assist in test planning, tracking, and completion and develop test cases and test scripts;
• participate in post-implementation review and monitor software program performance;
• write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation;
• act as a consultative partner, providing expertise, analysis and advice to internal and external stakeholders;
• maintain and provide accurate testing status reports; and
• work effectively as a team member.

How do I qualify?

Knowledge and Skills

• knowledge of and demonstrated experience working with software development and project management life cycle, products / applications involved and business workflows, documentation repository practices and procedures and debugging techniques;
• sound knowledge of testing practices, related tools, development methodologies and defect management practices;
• demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications, SQL, software development (ASP.NET, C#), web applications;
• understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and the role of testing in this methodology;
• well-developed written communication skills;
• strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
• well developed analytical and problem solving skills; and
• strong coordination and organizational skills.
