A challenging opportunity exists with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Evaluation and Reporting Unit for a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to provide province wide leadership, promotion, planning and coordination for the production and release of public provincial forest reports.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:

• lead the strategic design and development of annual and five year reports
• facilitate the process of creating and editing the reports
• coordinate the final release of all related publications
• lead the communication planning

How do I qualify?

Technical knowledge:

• knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of forest resource management to translate forest reports, data and information into cohesive, technical reports in order to make recommendations and provide strategic advice
• in-depth understanding of forest management planning, forest-based information systems, monitoring, evaluating and reporting to provide province-wide leadership and coordination for the production and release of public provincial forest reports

Leadership and communication skills:

• leadership, project planning, facilitation, consensus building and time management skills to lead the strategic design and development of provincial forest reports and publications
• demonstrated communication skills to tactfully and effectively communicate with executive management, internal and external clients and partners
• technical writing and editing skills to lead the production and editing of forest program publications

Relationship building and negotiation skills:

• relationship building and negotiation skills to be responsive to client information requirements and to facilitate the development of agreements and partnerships to support the production of the reports

Other important skills:

• understanding of publication requirements and processes to design, develop and produce public documents and to manage publishing contracts
• ability to work in a team environment
