An interesting opportunity exists with the Corporate and Commodity Taxation Branch where you will provide input on taxation policy development process and analyze relevant aspects of the tax structure/systems for federal and Ontario Corporate taxes.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• research, analyze and develop corporate tax policy
• prepare briefing notes and presentations to brief senior management
• analyze and collect available data (Statistics Canada, Revenue Canada, Ontario Tax Administration etc.) in supporting policy analysis
• develop strategies and policy options for review
• liaise with federal and provincial counterparts, line ministries and government agencies to discuss tax policy
How do I qualify?
Technical Expertise:
• you have knowledge of economics, quantitative techniques, public finance or comparable discipline
• you have knowledge of policy processes and policy direction
• you are proficient with personal computers and computer applications
Research and Analytical Skills:
• you have demonstrated knowledge and experience in statistical and quantitative methods including conceptual and analytical skills
• you can analyze complex issues and provide information and advice
• you are able to plan and carry out projects to deadlines
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• you can effectively convey results of analysis and proposed strategies and options
• you can prepare and present material to senior management
• you have demonstrated interpersonal and team building skills
