Don't miss this opportunity to support the strategic development and analysis of corporate tax policy formulation. We are looking for a team-oriented Senior Economist to join the Corporate and Commodity Taxation Branch.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• provide expert advice and analysis to develop strategic plan for corporate tax reform/restructuring
• prepare detailed briefing notes and presentations for senior management and review the work of junior staff
• develop and maintain linkages between taxation issues
• liaise with federal and provincial counterparts, line ministries, government agencies to discuss tax policy
• act as a team/project leader to establish work plans and project objectives

How do I qualify?

Taxation, Policy and Economic Knowledge:

• you have demonstrated knowledge or experience in economics, quantitative techniques, public finance or comparable discipline
• you have are able to identify and quantify the impact of potential corporate tax policy changes
• you have knowledge of policy and budget processes

Research, Analytical and Computer Skills:

• you are able to research and develop a range of policy options
• you have knowledge or experience using statistical and quantitative methods, including conceptual, modelling and analytical skills
• you are proficient in computer software applications to support advanced quantitative analysis and function in current technological environment

Communication, Interpersonal and Project Management Skills:

• you have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively convey results of analysis
• you have experience preparing draft policy and budget papers
• you are able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior officials, associates and staff at all levels
• you have the ability to plan and carry out projects to deadline and supervise staff
