Do you have experience managing large payroll teams? The Ministry of Government Services seeks dynamic individuals to lead a team through the daily payroll production of business and process cycles for the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) System.

In these exciting opportunities you will develop and execute a variety of strategies, tactical plans and control mechanisms directed at fulfilling Ontario Shared Service's vision for meeting or exceeding customer expectations and employee engagement.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• lead and manage a payroll production team
• plan and manage the payroll production stream
• provide expertise and advice to senior management in the areas of payroll, business and system processes
• introduce and implement change management initiatives, business performance standards and performance measures
• plan and lead major production and business process renewal projects
• manage complex and contentious issues related to payroll production management activities

How do I qualify?

Management and Leadership Skills

• you have management and leadership skills to coach, mentor and develop staff, manage staff performance, and lead a production team providing service to clients in a complex PeopleSoft environment
• you have experience building high performance teams, engaging staff and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
• you have demonstrated skills in managing financial resources and human resources including labour relations issues
• you have knowledge of and experience with business management methodology and best practices including performance measures, change management, benchmarking and process renewal

Technical Expertise

• you have specialized knowledge and expertise in the areas of payroll production, benefits, collective agreements, HR and labour relations
• you have extensive experience and understanding of all PeopleSoft payroll, HR, and benefit system functionalities and processes
• you have a solid understanding of system requirements to re-engineer work and support future releases of PeopleSoft HCM
• you have extensive hands-on PeopleSoft functional system experience and understand the central PeopleSoft operational concepts
• you can interpret relevant legislation, regulations and collective agreements

Analytical and Issues Management Skills

• you have analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze and resolve complex operational problems and issues
• you can demonstrate a high level of judgment in identifying labour/human resources issues, in analyzing systems and practices, and in providing specialized business and change management expertise
• you have knowledge of risk management strategies and issues analysis to promote operational excellence in a diverse and complex environment

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

• you have excellent communication and facilitation skills to prepare and present business cases, marketing and communications plans, and senior level correspondence
• you have superior consultative skills to provide expertise, advice and guidance to the employee relations and HR communities
• you have strong interpersonal skills to work in a highly team-oriented environment
• you can develop and maintain cooperative partnerships with colleagues and customers
