Do you have exceptional leadership and expertise on matters relating to francophone affairs and French-language services? Are you interested in managing the integration of the overall divisional policy quality control of documents and program development planning functions for the Office of Francophone Affaires (OFA)? If so, then this challenging opportunity is for you!

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
• Manage Assistant Deputy Minister's Office (ADMO) key information and communications materials
• Provide senior level executive support to the ADM
• Provide direction and technical expertise to the divisional team with regard to Results-based- Planning (RbP)
• Lead the development and implementation of ADMO's and divisional support services, processes, standards and tools
• Provide administrative and procedural policy and program management strategies
• Manage relationships with numerous internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Ensure that products from the Division for ADM approvals are of a high quality
• Provide overall supervision for quality control
• Manage the Office of the Assistant Deputy Minister's staff

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• Proficiency in written and oral English and French at the superior level

Leadership Skills:

• You have experience managing staff
• You have knowledge of human resources guidelines and practices as well as Collective Agreements and relevant legislation
• You have knowledge of project management and planning to collaborate and support OFA's high priority, critical and special projects

Program Delivery and Business Knowledge:

• You have knowledge of OFA's legislative role, mandate, services, processes, organizational structure and corporate strategic objectives
• You are familiar with the role and mandate of the Office of the French Language Services Commissioner (OFLSC) in order to provide senior level executive support
• You have knowledge of the government's decision-making processes, financial and administrative policies and guidelines
• You can provide direction to the divisional team in regard to RbP, including budget preparation and administration
• You know the protocols and practices of an executive office to provide senior level executive support

Communication Skills and Stakeholder Relations:

• You have highly developed consultation, negotiation and persuasiveness skills
• You can prepare and deliver presentations
• You have experience building and maintaining working relationships
• You are able to demonstrate political acuity

Analytical and Issues Management Skills:

• You can provide analysis of complex issues and priorities
• You are able to assess risks on policy and program delivery to ensure that divisional information flow is managed in a timely and effective manner
• You can support priorities and critical divisional special projects and initiatives
• You are able to resolve complex issues
