Are you a creative thinker who can analyze and evaluate activities?
The Ministry of Labour is seeking an individual to analyze and evaluate activities to increase operational effectiveness and ensure program evaluation information needs are met.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• Research and analyze statistics, data and issues to develop and implement qualitative and quantitative techniques to monitor trends to support ministry policy and planning activities
• Conduct and participate in the analysis and evaluation of operational data to support operational programs and policies
• Develop performance indicators, questionnaires and research methodologies to measure the effectiveness of existing operational programs
• Design and prepare customized data analyses and data reports by writing computer programs to extract data in response to requests for information
• Conduct environmental scans and write reports to identify trends and program needs
• Provide excellent customer service, build partnerships and research issues raised to work collaboratively with management, staff and stakeholders
• Lead evaluation projects, participate in committees and present summaries and reports to branches, staff and stakeholders
• Prepare comprehensive reports, briefing notes, presentations and other communications products to ensure efficiency in program delivery

How do I qualify?

Knowledge of Data Analysis and Computer Operations

•You know statistical data analysis programs and techniques (e.g. SAS, SPSS) to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis
•You know how to generate data reports (e.g. Crystal Reports and Business Objects Reports)
• You know computer modeling techniques to conduct research and develop analyses
• You know how to organize and maintain database content using standard query language to facilitate and distribute data
• You know word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs to prepare recommendations and describe results

Analytical, Evaluation and Problem-Solving Skills

• You have knowledge of evaluation methods to develop and implement program evaluation frameworks and projects
•You can analyze and evaluate policy material to develop recommendations and support issues management
• You can identify problematic finds and determine appropriate action to resolve problems

Organization and Collaboration Skills

• You are organized and pay attention to detail when conducting analyses
• You work effectively in a team environment to meet deadlines
• You work well independently to maintain work momentum

Communication Skills

• You can advise management on the implementation and improvements of operational programs and policies
• You can coordinate data, prepare reports, and present difficult concepts to management and stakeholders
