Bring your skills in systems analysis, system design, project planning and test planning to ServiceOntario's Contact Centre Modernization Branch, where you will lead project teams in the software quality assurance testing for current and future projects!

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• develop test strategies for application portfolios
• coordinate, oversee and execute the completion of test strategies and test plans
• identify areas for improving the effectiveness of previous tests and assess new system requirements
• provide quality control advice and guidance to project team members
• develop and participate in new system designs and enhancements
• develop and implement automation strategies by leveraging existing cluster IBM Rational Toolset
• perform IT application tests such as unit, system, system hardware integration, user acceptance, functional, Accessibility Ontario Disability Act (AODA), integration, regression, configuration, performance, system, load balance, for java based portal framework and web applications
• be responsible for execution and recording results of test cases and scripts, recording new defects; updating defect status of open defects after retesting
• prepare design test cases, write test scripts/reports and manage the tests for automation and reuse

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

• You have demonstrated experience developing, testing and implementing web and portal based applications
• You have an understanding of technology (Software and Hardware) platforms: operating systems, database technologies, application development languages, client desktops, mobile, middleware, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, networks, firewalls and telecommunications protocols
• You have knowledge of current and emerging trends in IT quality assurance domain
• You have knowledge of current development and testing tools and languages within the different frameworks and platforms (e.g. J2EE, .NET, Domino, IMS, Oracle, etc)
• You have thorough knowledge of database design and data dictionaries

Quality Assurance Testing Skills

• You have demonstrated experience monitoring and enforcing application development and quality control standards
• You have knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, object-oriented analysis and design techniques
• You have the ability to design, develop and implement n-tier web-based applications
• You have knowledge of industry best practices and testing automation tools including, HP Load Runner and Rational Functional tester
• You have an understanding of governing policies, processes, and procedures, understanding the use of the application being tested, as well as the test tools
• You have experience in test management, defect management; knowledgeable on software design and development methods, general technical and functional use of application being tested

Project Management and Problem Solving Skills

• You have analytical skills to ensure compliance with quality control guidelines, assess quality control findings and make decisions on the quality acceptability
• You can review and analyze client and ministry business requirements for system changes and updates
• You have knowledge of financial management, budgeting, procedures and processes to develop, monitor and manage project budgets

Communication and Negotiation Skills

• You can effectively liaise and facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders
• You have demonstrated customer service and consensus building skills to determine client expectations and ensure they meet organizational goals
• You have the ability to work effectively in a team and act as a team leader
