Are you an experienced, self motivated and highly client-service oriented fixed wing pilot looking for a diverse and rewarding career opportunity? If so, then consider this exciting opportunity with Aviation Services.

PLEASE NOTE: The total number of positions to be filled and locations have not been identified at this time. The results of this competition will be used to create an eligibility list for any upcoming King Air Captain vacancies that may be available in Sault Ste. Marie or Mississauga during the next 18 months.

What can I expect to do in this role?

The benefits of this career include excellent compensation while working scheduled weekly rotations from both a home base location and remote operating facilities in northern Ontario.

You will:
• act as Pilot-in-Command on a King Air B350 aircraft supporting passenger transport to a wide variety of locations including busy metropolitan areas, and remote northern communities
• assist clients in planning their flight requirements
• ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight
• work with the Aviation Service Centre to update on flight requirement schedules and duty time limitations
• be required to travel away from base, sometimes for extended periods

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

In order to qualify for an interview, you will need to demonstrate:

Mandatory licensing/requirements:
• valid Airline Transport Pilot License endorsed for single and multi-engine land endorsement fixed wing aircraft
• valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
• valid Category 1 Medical
• valid Restricted Radio Telephone Operator's Certificate
• ability to pass Canadian and U.S. Transport Agency Security Screening
• valid passport or ability to acquire
• 4,000 hours minimum fixed wing flying time

Technical skills:
• you have extensive knowledge and proficiency in instrument flight rules (IFR) transport flight operations
• you have knowledge of the Canadian Air Service Standard and Business Aircraft Operations Safety Systems
• you have knowledge of Canadian Business Aircraft Association private operator's certificate requirements
• you have knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
• you have the ability to understand ministry air operations to safely operate aircraft according to regulations
• you have extensive knowledge of the Aeronautics Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations
• you have an understanding of worker responsibilities as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act


General skills:
• you have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with air service staff and a wide variety of client groups
• you understand the need for tact and diplomacy, and to maintain confidentiality
• you have proven group leadership
• you have good judgment in order to apply sound pilot decision-making

The results of this competition will be used to create an eligibility list for any upcoming King Air Captain vacancies that may be available in the identified locations during the next 12 months.
