Take the lead for developing a strategic vision that links finance, human resource and technology, changes that support delivery of ministries' priorities.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is the steward of Ontario's provincial parks, forests, fisheries, wildlife, mineral aggregates, petroleum resources and the Crown land and waters and is committed to conserving biodiversity and using natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs leads corporate government initiatives on Aboriginal affairs, and coordinates cross-ministry Aboriginal policy initiatives and multi-lateral relationship processes.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to two Deputy Ministers, the ADM, Corporate Management Division and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a trusted strategic advisor that provides business planning advice and resource management services to enable the ministries to fulfill their mandates.

In this key executive leadership role, the ADM and CAO will:

• Act as the advisor on a variety of corporate matters relating to the delivery financial and asset management and human resource management.

•Provide overall leadership and assurances that administrative practices and processes in the ministries meet standards for public accountability and controllership.

• Coordinate, facilitate and provide executive support for the development and implementation of the ministries business plans in conjunction with the government's Results-Based Planning and reporting processes.

• Develop and implement human resources strategies to support changes to core businesses.

• Spearhead business transformation, organizational restructuring, renewal and effectiveness initiatives.

• Provide strategic human resource and labour relations advice and support to two Deputy Ministers and senior executives to support positive labour-management relations and a diverse and inclusive workforce that will ensure the long-term sustainability of quality public services.

• Build and nurture relationships and partnerships with delivery partners, central agency ministries, other governments, stakeholders and clients.

Corporate Leadership

• You have examples of developing a strategic direction and multi-year corporate plans (financial, operational, and capital) which exemplify modernization and change management initiatives.
• You have experience as an executive in leading and overseeing human resource planning and services in a unionized environment.

Core Knowledge Required for Success

You are a leader with strong financial acumen and demonstrated knowledge of:
• Modern controllership and risk management;
• Financial Planning and Resource management;
• Human Resources management principles and best practices in organizational effectiveness; and
• Government decision-making processes

Core Skills Required for Success

You are a strategic leader with demonstrated experience in:
• Financial planning, controllership and financial oversight;
• Strategic HR management;
• Service and contract management;
