Are you an experienced leader able to plan and negotiate complex property acquisitions in support of highway development projects? If so, then consider this challenging opportunity.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Working with the Manager of Engineering, you will:
• co-ordinate property acquisition initiatives and other related projects
• manage and lead staff
• represent the ministry in real estate matters
• ensure quality standards and legislative requirements are met
• develop and monitor annual budgets
• manage complex and/or sensitive issues
• recommend and approve settlement of claims.

How do I qualify?

Management skills:

• You have management and team leadership skills to plan section activities and lead a team.
• You have financial management knowledge and skills to manage section and property acquisition budgets and support consultant services.
• You are a strategic-thinker who can ensure regional objectives are met.

Real estate skills:

• You have thorough knowledge of the real estate practices, including property appraisals, negotiations, and real estate conveyance.
• You can interpret and apply complex real estate legislation, such as the Expropriations Act.
• You have analytical skills to review technical information and to investigate and resolve problems.

Interpersonal skills:

• You communicate effectively to make recommendations to senior management and work effectively with stakeholders.
• You have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to handle complex or sensitive property undertakings.
• You have proven interpersonal and communication skills to relay complex information to non-technical staff, clients and stakeholders.
• You have the ability to produce reports and provide correspondence on projects and initiatives.
