Bring your pharmaceutical expertise and your strong analytical and problem solving skills to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Drug Program Services Branch, where you will review drug submissions from manufacturers on products being considered for listing as Ontario Drug Benefits (ODB).

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
• provide a thorough review of the clinical and/or pharmacoeconomic data in drug submissions to ensure information is credible and sufficient, and that adequate comparators were used;
• develop cost comparison and/or impact analysis of drug products;
• identify and research complex clinical, economic and process related issues;
• develop, recommend and/or implement policies and procedures which support the review process and the Committee to Evaluate Drugs (CED);
• facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders; and
• prepare briefing notes and correspondence.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.Sc Pharm., BSP or equivalent) and licensed by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Technical Knowledge:

• You have sound knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacoeconomics and clinical pharmacotherapy.
• You have demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical and pharmacoenomics data.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of financial cost comparison techniques and impact analysis, and the ability to interpret market share information.
• You have good knowledge of legislation and/or regulations governing federal and provincial drug submissions review process.

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:

• You have analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills to conduct options analysis and formulate a solution based on sound rationale.

Communication, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills:

• You have excellent verbal and written communication to participate in work groups/committees, conduct meetings and presentations, prepare briefing notes, technical reports, recommendations/correspondence.
• You have interpersonal skills to provide consultation to stakeholders to identify and resolve potential conflicts or contentious issues of varying levels of technical expertise.
• You have demonstrated organizational skills to work within tight timeframes, handle multiple priorities and/or competing demands.

Computer Skills:

• You have proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database (e.g., pharmaceutical database) applications.
