Bring your technical knowledge and project management skills to the Ministry of Government Services, where they are looking to fill the role of Application and Technology Analyst.

Please Note: This position will be located at either 222 Jarvis. St in Toronto or 33 King St. in Oshawa

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
• provide subject matter expertise on application design and applying information technologies for the implementation of automation solutions
• assist in the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps and strategies, and support clients and cluster staff in applying the
technology roadmaps
• provide support to architects in the development and maintenance of artefacts for application architectures and technology architectures

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills - Design and Implementation

• you have extensive knowledge and experience in application designs and applying information technologies for the implementation of automation solutions
• you have knowledge in documenting application designs and automation solutions in the form of narratives and models such as class diagrams and deployment models
• you have experience in database design, data structures, data warehouses, business intelligence and related concepts and practices
• you have knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation activities
• you have knowledge of information technologies such as servers, storage, networks, operating systems, database technologies, security technologies (e.g. authentication), development tools and programming languages

Technical Knowledge and Skills – Architecture and Roadmap

• you have knowledge and experience in development of application architectures and technology architectures using requirements as input
• you have knowledge of systems security and privacy, and how they are related to architectures
• you have knowledge of architecture principles, frameworks and practice
• you have knowledge of business and information architectures, and how they are related to application architectures and technology architectures
• you have the ability to analyze the current state of I&IT landscape and participate in the development of roadmaps for achieving the future states

Project Management Knowledge and Skills

• you have knowledge of project management, including scopes, costs, schedules, quality, resources, stakeholder management, communications, risks, procurement and project integration
• you have the ability to assist project managers to maintain project plans, track cost and work progress, track issues, and report project status
• you have proficiency with using project management information systems, such as the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, shared folders, and collaboration tools

Computer Skills

• you have proficiency with using various office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio to develop project documents and presentations

Other Essential Skills

• you have the ability to support and provide guidance to staff in applying technology roadmaps and automation solutions
• you have excellent written and oral communication skills
• you are effective in making presentations
• you have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• you have the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
