Are you a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a team atmosphere? Do you have what it takes to strategically manage highway assets within northeastern Ontario's highway network?

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this position, you will:

• develop, analyze and monitor transportation infrastructure investment strategies and plans;
• work cooperatively with other transportation professionals to develop investment programs for major capital rehabilitation and future expansion.
• consolidate, analyse and compare program achievements and outcomes to provincial/regional business objectives and recommend changes to infrastructure investment strategies.

NOTE:

Please be advised that five more locations (New Liskeard, Cochrane, Huntsville, S. Ste Marie and Sudbury) have been added as a possible work location and the posting closing date has been extended.

The location of the position is at 447 Mckeown Ave, North Bay: however, pending the results of the competition, consideration will be given to the successful candidate to allow him/her to work out of one of the following Area Offices (depending on the location of the successful candidate and operational needs):

• either 500 Rockley Road, New Liskeard or
o 74 Second Street, Cochrane or
o 207 Main St. W., Huntsville or
o Roberta Bondar Place, 70 Foster Drive, Sault Ste Marie or
o 3767 Hwy 69 South, Sudbury

Please note that this position requires travel to North Bay twice a month.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge:

• knowledge of business planning, capital planning and performance measurement;
• knowledge of infrastructure management and capital programs to develop long-term transportation infrastructure investment strategies;
• knowledge of economics, financing and budgeting;
• knowledge of engineering, maintenance and construction processes;
• knowledge of various computer hardware and software and applications to analyze, organize, manipulate, retrieve, store data and present material using different software packages (e.g. word
processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and specialized investment/economic software).

Essential Skills:

• demonstrated analytical and decision making skills;
• communication, presentation and teamwork skills;
• organizational skills to manage data from multiple sources;
