What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
grow existing partnerships in advertising sales
provide strategic sales and business development leadership and expertise
solicit and initiate sales
develop and implement sales and new business development plans, programs and project initiatives
increase revenue through sponsorship and sales

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Valid Ontario Class “G” driver's licence.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

You have significant, direct experience in sales and business development, with demonstrated success in your profession.
You have knowledge and experience in cold call selling.
You have knowledge of best practices in identifying sales prospects and experience closing a sale.
You have knowledge of the tourism industry and the unique attractions and brand position of the St. Lawrence Parks Commission.
You have experience building and selling the profile and image of a revenue generating business. You have experience building the profile and positive image of a brand.

LEADERSHIP, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH SKILLS:

You have the ability to lead the planning, development and implementation of innovative sales and business development plans.
You have an ability to research and identify new partnership opportunities for multiple business units to achieve targeted sales goals.
You have an understanding of market research methods to prepare advertising opportunities for prospective clients.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

You have professional communication and interpersonal skills to develop and negotiate strategic business partnerships and relationship building skills to manage contract relationships.
You have superior oral and written communication skills to deliver dynamic presentations and prepare reports on a range of products and materials including business plans, marketing, promotional, and communications materials and web content.
You possess a personal commitment to excellent customer service.

ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:

You have the ability to assess emerging trends in tourism, entertainment and leisure products to identify future business opportunities for the St. Lawrence Parks Commission.

FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:

You have the ability to acquire and manage contractual agreements with external service providers using transparent and fair procurement practices.
You have an understanding of government financial management policies and best practices to plan and administer business plans and budgets, and generate revenues.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

You are experienced with e-commerce and database management.
