Are you interested in providing expert quantitative, financial and policy research, studies and analysis that supports the development of provincial infrastructure policies and programs? If so, this opportunity is for you! Join the Infrastructure Planning Division where you will support the development of infrastructure policy and planning advice for senior executives within the Ministry, Treasury Board, Management Board of Cabinet and Cabinet.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Lead the provision of quantitative, economic, financial, and strategic advice related to infrastructure policy
• Design and implement capacity-enhancing tools, data models, and processes to support infrastructure policy and a culture of evidence-based decision making
• Provide analytical advice to line ministries on enhancing their long-term infrastructure asset management planning, needs forecasting, business case development, and post-implementation performance measurement
• Prepare and present briefings, advice, solutions and strategies on quantitative issues related to infrastructure policy.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• You have knowledge of microeconomic theory, public finance, economics, statistics or a related discipline to manage quantitative, economic, financial, and strategic advice related to infrastructure policy
• You have computer-based quantitative skills such as database management, statistical software, GIS, and visualization applications to undertake and interpret analysis, and prepare various communications materials
• You have knowledge of the government's strategic directions, priorities, issues and challenges for infrastructure policy and the Ministry's strategic plan

Leadership and Project Management Skills:

• You have analytical, strategic thinking and issue management skills to support infrastructure policy and a culture of evidence-based decision making
• You can enable Cabinet Committees or Senior Management to make better decisions
• You can support staff and consultants in the conduct of infrastructure needs assessment, modelling and forecasting, as well as inter-ministry and project teams engaged in infrastructure data acquisition and analysis

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• You have excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare various and complex written materials
• You can clearly communicate complex analytical results
• You can prepare and deliver presentations to senior executives
• You can build and maintain positive and trusting working relationships
