A rewarding career awaits you at the Ministry of Education, Provincial Schools Branch. Currently we are looking for a Social Worker to support both the Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf and the Robarts School for the Deaf. As part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team, in a school and residential setting, you will provide social worker services/case management to students and their families, conducting assessments/counselling/group work. Our Schools provide a safe place where students, families and staff find support to learn, grow, discover and ultimately, 'Believe in Themselves'.

What can I expect to do in this role?

• Work with Deaf and hard of hearing students and families.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team.
• Provide social worker and case management services to students and their families including conducting assessments, counselling and group work.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• Knowledge of theories/practices of professional social work normally acquired through completion of a clinical Masters degree in Social Work;
• Current registration as a social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
• An original, satisfactory Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within the last six months) as deemed suitable by the Employer prior to the commencement of employment

Skills and Qualifications:

Your background and experience enable you to meet the following requirements:

• experience working with Deaf and hard of hearing students/families;
• thorough knowledge of behaviour management techniques;
• excellent communication/interpersonal/organizational skills including knowledge and ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL);
• demonstrated counselling/case management skills;
• ability and willingness to travel between Milton and London.
