Are you a highly motivated, results-oriented professional with experience implementing innovative procurement strategies? If so, the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services', Corporate Financial Services Branch is looking for you to support the Ministry in the procurement of goods and services, meeting client and corporate objectives, and complying with government legislation and practices.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Provide expertise and advice to clients on procurement strategies and business plans.
• Lead the development of procurement business cases, requests for proposal (RFP), requests for tender (RFT), requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for information (RFI).
• Conduct research on procurement issues and trends to identify effective business improvement opportunities.
• Act as the Ministry-wide point of contact between Ministry clients, senior management and central agencies on procurement initiatives and approvals.

How do I qualify?

Specialized Knowledge and Experience:


You have demonstrated:
• knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, trends, and relevant legislation to implement continuous improvements to procurement program and service delivery
• experience utilizing client feedback to improve customer satisfaction and simplify contracts and agreements
• knowledge of current trends related to procurement, risk and performance assessment to ensure quality client service

Communication, Relationship Management and Consultation Skills:


You have demonstrated:
• consultation and advisory skills to develop strategic procurement plans and options to meet business and client needs
• relationship management skills to ensure a transparent procurement process by building and maintaining strong partnerships with vendors and clients
• experience providing advice and guidance to senior management on projects, goods and services acquisitions, and large-scale contract negotiations
• experience making recommendations on strategic procurement planning and performance measures to support client and corporate objectives
• negotiation and influencing skills to negotiate cost-effective and efficient contracts and ensure optimum service levels
• oral communication skills to provide strategic advice to clients and senior management, lead information sessions, present reports and proposals and develop stakeholder relations
• written communication skills to prepare proposals, analytical reports and recommendations

Analytical Skills:


You have demonstrated experience:
• identifying potential opportunities to improve client service and value
• identifying, analyzing and resolving issues and developing options and recommendations for creative business solutions
• interpreting, analyzing and applying procurement methods to develop strategies and resolve issues

Leadership and Project Management Skills:


You have demonstrated:
• project management skills to coordinate multiple projects to successful completion
• experience leading teams to produce results and influence the development of business cases
