About the job
In this role, you will:
• provide information and clarification on the laws, policies and programs to French language elementary school boards, family support programs, child care partners and other early years stakeholders;
• facilitate the implementation of new policies;
• monitor and report on the effectiveness of the school system;
• ensure compliance with ministry policies and programs;
• help provide a strong and vibrant education system.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirement:
• You are a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
• You are proficient in English; your oral and written French are at the superior level.
Specialized knowledge and skills:
• You have extensive knowledge and understanding in the application of education theory, principles and practices at the elementary school level.
• You have the ability to interpret and apply legislation (e.g. Education Act, Child Care and Early Years Act), ministry business plan and strategic directions, objectives, policy and priorities to monitor and ensure compliance at the local level to school board administration.
Leadership and analytical skills:
• You have leadership, facilitation and organizational skills to provide a liaison role and to demonstrate authority and credibility when dealing with boards, family support programs and child care partners.
• You have analytical skills to interpret ministry policies and guidelines, and assess compliance with ministry legislation and requirements.
• You have research skills to prepare advisory reports and briefings, and make evidence-based recommendations.
Communication skills:
• You have written communication skills to prepare detailed reports, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence.
• You have oral communication and interpersonal skills to make presentations, advise and consult with school boards, early years partners, educational facilities, community representatives and other stakeholders and to make committee presentations.
