This position provides an interesting variety of work at the provincial level where you will lead and manage the strategic planning and coordination of projects and initiatives in the seamless linkage of policy development and program delivery.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Lead significant, complex projects for the Integration Branch with broad implications within the Regional Operations Division, and cross-divisionally within the ministry and across ministries.
• Manage processes to support projects and project resources in the division - to ensure strategic decision making and ministry priorities are met.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships between regions, staff within the division and others to ensure ongoing positive collaboration and decisions in support of key priority projects.
• Use and promote a standard project management framework.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy and program development and evaluation; strategic planning; and the ability to formulate recommendations and proposals to management, stakeholders and clients.
• Knowledge of government decision making processes.
• Knowledge of natural resource planning and management processes; and environmental protection strategies.
• Scientific and technical terminology to participate in various projects and respond to complex technical matters.
• Proven ability to understand, interpret and apply legislation and regulations.
• Knowledge of computer applications to manage, track, and monitor a significant number of concurrent projects, and prepare reports and presentations.

Interpersonal and Leadership Skills

• Interpersonal and communication skills to consult, negotiate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership, and coaching skills to plan, organize and facilitate project work.

Analytical Skills and Decision Making

• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills to make sound judgment, anticipate and provide advice on issues effectively, and for business planning and project management purposes.
