Bring your strong analytical and procurement skills to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Corporate Management and Information Division where you will be part of a team that provides service management support and advice to program management.

The Ministry
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry provides opportunities for resource development and outdoor recreation for the continuous economic and social benefit of the people of Ontario; and to administer, protect, and conserve public lands and waters. The Ministry's programs are concerned with the use of the physical resources such as land, water, trees, fish, animals and certain minerals for resource utilization and recreation.

The Division
The Corporate Management Division is responsible for leadership for corporate business/administration, fiscal controllership (transparency, monitoring, reporting), infrastructure management and strategic human resources. The Division provides corporate focus on advancing the OPS modern controllership agenda and managing financial and physical resources in an open manner, ensuring ministry compliance with OPS objectives and corporate policies.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Analyze, and evaluate client and corporate issues in areas of supply chain, procurement, and contract management
• Provide procurement and contract advisory services
• Participate on ministry-wide working groups, initiatives and projects
• Provide support for presentations and briefings to the Deputy Minister, senior management

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

You have:
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to interpret and apply principles of procurement and finance, and administrative policies, procedures and practices
• Knowledge of policy development methods, techniques and protocols to make recommendations and enhance business practices
• Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of legislative authorities relating to procurement, employee relocation and finance

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

You have:
• Demonstrated communication and advisory skills to provide information to clients, and develop policies, procedures, training materials, reports, correspondence, presentation materials and briefing notes
• Proven interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders, central agencies, other ministries, working groups and divisional staff
• Consultation skills to determine client's needs and manage stakeholder relationships
• Presentation and facilitation skills to develop and deliver training related to procurement, contract management, finances, employee relocation, policies and procedures

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

You can:
• Assess data, provide recommendations and resolve issues
• Identify client priorities and resolve service management issues
• Apply experience conducting cost-benefit analyses to determine the impact of changes made to policies, directive and procedures

Planning and Project Management Skills

You have:
• Planning and project management skills to coordinate and implement projects
• Ability to prioritize your work while ensuring deliverables are met
• Knowledge of procurement planning to provide recommendations and advice to program managers

Computer Skills

• You are proficient with computer software applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet, e-mail
